The NCSWA Professional Development Committee is excited to host the second of three virtual writing workshops with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, professor, and story coach Jacqui Banaszynski.
The next lunchtime Zoom session will take place from 12 noon to 1:15 p.m. on February 12. The workshop is free for all NCSWA members.
Session 2: FINDING FRESH ENTERPRISE STORIES IN OLD TOPICS
No story is truly finished; think of it, instead, as countless more stories. And no subject is truly mundane; approaching it from new angles, with new questions, can yield creative new ideas. This workshop delves into “brainstorming” stories — a thought process using a series of focused, purposeful questions to spark deep, innovative ideas. We will look at a template of brainstorming questions and discuss ways to come up with our own. Good questions are the key to good ideas, which are the key to good stories.
The topic and registration information for the third workshop on March 12 will be announced at a later date.
