Crafting a fine bottle of brandy or gin is far more involved than brewing a carboy of beer in the garage. It takes special gear, a good palate, and a certain amount of scientific skill, no matter what you may have heard about Kentucky moonshiners.

Learn how the professionals create luxury liquor with a tour of St. George’s Spirits, located on the former Naval Air Station in Alameda. We’ll visit the company’s production floor to get a closer look at the copper stills and other equipment turning out their craft brandy, vodka, gin, and flavored liqueurs. While out on the floor, a “spirit guide” will offer us an overview of the distillery’s history, discuss what they produce, and explain the production process and equipment. By the end you’ll have a good sense of exactly what goes into crafting the liquid courage in your shot glass.

The tour concludes with a guided tasting of up to six of their spirits, all of which were made onsite. Choose from Green Chile Vodka, Botanivore Gin, American Whiskey, Raspberry Brandy, Spiced Pear Liqueur, Absinthe Verte, and much more in their adjacent tasting room.
